Lakeshore Trip Recap & Wedding Plans

The internet was down until Saturday evening in Lakeshore, so I wasn't able to post anything while I was there. The trip went well. The Riverside team spent our days at Ms. Lynn's house. We painted, hung doors, laid flooring, and did trim work. I took lots of photos and I will create a slide show of the pictures. I will also add other photos when I get copies from Diana and Charlie.

Thursday evening the Silver Slipper Casino opened its doors in Lakeshore, down on the water. One of the main roads to the water, Lakeshore Drive, goes right past the church and the road was backed up for miles. Pastor Don had just received an order for Billion Dollar tracts with Charles Spurgeon on them. They arrived at the last minute Thursday afternoon and so we were able to go pass them out! Here's a link to Pastor Don's website with the entry about the tracting. A guy from an Alabama church (sorry his name slips my mind) joined us in passing out the tracts. It was his first time tracting and he had a blast. Cody had fun passing them out too. He would walk up and down the road offering them out to anyone who would take them. When we passed by one car you could see the passenger look at us like we were chickens with our heads cut off and you could see this person reaching down to the door and could hear the door locking. I surprised a passenger in another vehicle. A person in the back seat of the vehicle wanted one of the tracts and I was passing it through the window and when the passenger in the front seat turned she jumped when she saw me. While we were passing out the tracts we ran across Jamie who was returning from her Bible study and was stuck waiting in traffic waiting to get back to the church.

All in all the trip went well. The trains are still running. I think more times then they did when we were there in April. There are still some areas where cleanup hasn't even begun and other areas where they are starting to rebuild. They are tearing down the elementary school and are going to rebuild it. Right now the children are being sent to schools where they have to travel a few hours a day or more to go and return from school. The weather was excellent! Sat. afternoon the temps dropped and it was a bit chilly (okay cold). It was still nice. It didn't rain while we were there although, it did threaten to Sat. afternoon.

For those who are asking the wedding plans are going well. I am working on updating my personal website and will add the wedding details to it. I will post a link when I have completed the site. It's been busy here and haven't had much time to work on it. We are still looking at a late March/early April wedding date. We are trying to arrange it to be when my brother is home because we really want him to be here. I have some time off over the Thanksgiving weekend and hopefully will have a few hours that I can spend working on the website.

Love to all!

Jenn
