A Lot of Bark, but No Bite.

Despite all the orange and red on the radar last night and hearing the rumbling, it didn't get nasty here last night as the band came through. It has been drizzling off and on right now with it dry but overcast right now. We may get very little if not any more rain today/tonight.

Since When ...

I got a mailing today from a known bookstore in the area and I had to do a double take when I saw it advertising Strawberry Shortcake DVD's. Since when does Strawberry Shortcake belong in a Christian bookstore? Unless is has changed since I was a kid it shouldn't belong in a Christian bookstore! It may be considered a good dvd/book and teach good lessons/values but unless it teaches about our wonderful, awesome, almighty God it shouldn't be sold in a Christian bookstore.

It's just starting to thunder & lightning here. It's a wicked band (a lot of yellow and red on the radar) and then it looks like it'll be quiet for a few hours and then it'll let loose again for most of tomorrow if not Wed. too.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina making landfall. Interesting how we're dealing with another storm at the same time the following year. Praise God that it's not any where near like Katrina was!!!

I would like to go back to Lakeshore. Maybe the Lord will open up the door for me to go again!

Well that's all for now. Love to all!!

In Christ,

Jenn

Proverbs 3:26, Jeremiah 17:7, and Luke 6:45

Proverbs 3:26 NASB
For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your feet from being caught.

Jeremiah 17:7 NASB
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord.

Luke 6:45 NASB
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

Tropical Storm Ernesto and Scrapbooking

Sorry I haven't updated. It was a very busy week last week. It looks like the next two days there will be nothing better to do then be at home since we will be getting rain from TS Ernesto. Right now the storm is supposed to go up the other side of the state but we'll get rain, rain, and more rain. Not good for those who work outside. I should be able to get cleaning and scrapbooking done so it may not be a bad thing being cooped up. However, my air conditioner is still broken! The repair guy is supposed to be calling any day to schedule an appointment to come and replace the compressor.

I'm sitting down and working on a layout right now. Basically, gathering the embellishments that I'm going to use on it. I don't know how much longer I'll work on it because I'm getting tired. I wanted to post and say hello to everyone.

Love to all!

Scrapbook Paper

Happy Birthday Kyler!!! I pray that you are having a fun time with your family!

Yesterday's sermon was a welcomed sermon. It's so true when things happen we can be quick to worry about what's going to happen next in life instead of completly resting in God's Grace and trusting Him. That's been something that my flesh has been struggling with.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 keeps coming to my mind through the past couple of weeks. My August 14th and August 18th posts have the verses in the post.

I stopped by Michaels to pick up some new coloring books for the pre-school class that were on clearance for 10 cents a piece. Kyler, there's a fire truck coloring and activity book in there! M's has their 12x12 scrapbook paper on sale for 4/$1. I went over to see if any paper caught my eye...not that I don't have enough pp and cardstock as it is. I came across scrapbook paper that I want to use for my November Lakeshore, MS pictures. It's a fall/thanksgiving theme. So I bought sheets to start working on the album. I have some ribbon in the green color and I found a matching roll of purple ribbon that will go with the colors of the paper. I also bought a bag of leaves that will be used in the layouts. I am uploading the pictures to snapfish and I will order pictures so I can begin working on them. I haven't found paper for the April trip but one of these days I will. LOL. After uploading the pictures from the Nov trip I realized that I had already uploaded them to Snapfish but just had it labeled with the church name instead of the trip date. Oh well.

I have a fairly busy week. I think I have something planned every night this week...just the way it worked out. I have my Bible study (last meeting for this study), 2 birthday parties, a meeting, hanging with David, and riding.

Have a great evening! I'll post more later.

Love to all,

Jenn

Devil Rays

David petting one of the rays in the tank.

A ray close up.

A picture of David and I. The camera decided to focus on the seats behind us. :)

My camera has to be serviced. :( I now cannot view pictures after I take them. I can only view them as thumbnails. That's okay because there's something else wrong with it (that is minor) that I have been holding off sending it in because I will be without my camera for at least a couple of months. It didn't much matter because most of my pics came out blurry. That was my own fault because I didn't change the ISO. Oh well...the next time.

I did have fun at the baseball game!! David and I were able to get tickets to go in to the ray holding tank area and pet the rays that they have. It's a new attraction at Tropicana Field so if anyone gets the opportunity to go take advantage of it. They only allow so many people per 10 minute slot. When you enter the stadium the table to get the tickets is right off to the left. We arrived there about 15 minutes before the game started (weather and traffic were horrible). I was expecting that the tickets would already be gone but they had a whole slew of them but then again they were playing the Jays and the crowds were light. It was a lot of fun! It doesn't cost you anything extra to go see them. They also sell food for $4 so you can feed them if you would like.

My allergies reeked havoc today. I was sneezing all day long while I was in the office. I didn't have the problems once I left. I'll see how I am tomorrow. My dad told me that I was allergic to work. :) I couldn't get anything done because I was sneezing the entire time I was sitting at my desk.

Something in Internet Exploder was keeping me from adding pictures to my posts. I installed Mozilla Firefox and the picture feature works perfectly. So I guess I'll start using Firefox to update my blog.

I think the critters have the right idea. One of them is curled up on the table next to my computer and the other one is curled up on a chair...both fast asleep. I think I am going to head to bed myself.

Love to all!

In Christ,

Jenn

P.S. I know I posted this on my post on 8/14/06 but the Lord showed it to me again tonight. Reminding me that this applies not only to my friends, family, enemies, and strangers but to Him as well. Because I love Him I will be patient, kind, not jealous, not arrogant, not boastful, forgiving, always praising Him, and trusting. This is the way He wants me to love everyone, even my enemies. This is an answer to prayer. I had been asking Him to show me how to love others the way He wants me to love them.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NASB

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Timothy 1:1-17

1 Timothy 1:1-17 NASB

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope; to Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus, in order that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrins, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand wither what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men, and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and prejurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service; even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy, because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

It's amazing at what I am learning and studying in these lessons are applicable to what is going on in my life in this current point in my life, 1 Timothy 1:1-17 being one of them. I praise the Lord every day for what I am learning and that my desire to be in the Word is increasing as the days go on. Although, I wish this study wasn't finishing up in four days, I know the Lord had this time appointed for this particular study and that He has planned out the next study that I will be beginning next for His glorious and wonderful plan. I also praise Him for the church that I am a part of and the pastors who He has ordained to be leaders of my church! One that stands up for the truth.

I wish I could stay and post some more but being that it is my birthday and I am going out tonight with David and my family I best be going so I can get home and get ready.

Have a great evening everyone!

Love in Christ,

Jenn

Hello All

Be deaf, be blind, be dead to gossip, and it will grow
disgusted with you and select a more sensitive victim.
Charles H. Spurgeon

There are only two more nights for the Bible study that I'm in...tonight and next Tuesday night. I have enjoyed learning about the life of Paul and look forward to what we will be studying next. Well it is time for me to get going. Have a great evening and I love you all!

Tons of stuff

Things have been going on some of which I can share but some I cannot. That which I cannot I don't completly understand why it's happening now. All I can do is be continually in His word and in prayer. I'm still processing stuff that has happened the past couple of days.

Also, last week the Lord pulled me back to Him. I was taking my focus off of Him and He gently pulled me back to Him. I am now spending more time in the Word and praying to my awesome and wonderful Lord!

Today I was reading from my Bible study book and one of the passages we were asked to read was 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. It applies to everything that is going on in my life right now. I need to continually pray for everything!

Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoic in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Have a great evening. I'm sorry I don't feel like sharing a lot tonight.

Short update

Sorry this is going to be a short update but I'm up late and I still have my Bible study to do and I'll be up early in the morning.

It's been a busy weekend. Friday, I scrapped. I completed 4 pages. I'm happy! I went in to the office on Sat for about and hour and then spent some time with my dad. Then I babysat the boys. We had a blast. I got to run in the sprinklers with them. Today it was church, hung out with a friend, and then we had a meeting to attend.

Busy week ahead including my birthday and going to a ball game.

Oh yeah the air people are coming to fix my air conditioner (tomorrow morning) which decided to start working again yesterday. AUGH!! Go fig. LOL :)

Have a great evening. Lots of love to everyone!!

Ephesians 6:10-24

Ephesians 6:10-24 NASB

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perserverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may e given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. But that you also may know about my circumstances, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faitful minister in the Lord, will make everything known to you. And I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us, and that he may comfort your hearts. Peace be to the brethern, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love incorruptible.

Hello everyone! I pray that all is going well! Can you please pray for my grandmother? She's in the hospital right now. She is on antibiotics and they are checking her white blood levels to see if she is responding to the antibiotics. My mom is going to be calling her soon, so as soon as I hear anything I'll let you know.

My times didn't change on my official time for the triathlon so 1:36:03 stands!! I didn't expect to be penalized any time because I couldn't remember doing anything that is a violation of race rules. My knee is feeling a lot better so later this week I plan on getting out and start running again.

Pics are posted

Good evening everyone! I was able to upload my tri pictures this afternoon. I still had some problems uploading them directly to my blog but I added them to my rotation of pictures and they are the first 4 pictures of the rotation right now.

I pray that everyone's day is going well! Not much new is going on here.

Have a great evening!

1:36:03!

My time today was 1 hour 36 minutes and 3 seconds! A new personal best for me! Last year's time was 1:39:11. The time that I have from today is the unofficial time. I left before they posted the official results. There are a series of triathlons going on at the location and once the last one began they would post the official times. I'll check the website in a couple of days to see my official times with the splits. I am very happy with my time and I came in only 18 minutes behind the leader for my age bracket which I am tickled with. I also came in about 8 1/2 minutes behind one of my dad's riding buddies and 28 behind my uncle.

I ran all of the first mile and then ran & walked the remainder of the run portion. Praise God that my knee didn't give me any problems today! I thought it was going to as soon as I started to run this morning and so I prayed asking for there to be no problems with it this morning. I didn't have any problems!! I believe I twisted it a couple weeks ago and had to stop running to let it heal. I'll give it a little more rest before starting to run again.

Last night was quite "fun". After work, I decided I was going to take my bike over and leave it there. Since my bike has been sitting on the trainer (not being used for the most part) the tires were flat. I blew up my rear tire and took a close look at it. It was starting to crack. David found a large crack in my front tire. So it was off to Chainwheel Drive (which is a good 30 minute drive in the opposite direction from where I was planning on going) to buy new tires. I bought two new tires, lubricant for my bike chain, and Gu (instead of the bars). All of this because I didn't think about checking my tires before and even two weeks ago when my dad and I went there to get his new helmet. Made a much longer trip because of an accident which closed a lane of the highway with everyone in the others stopping to gawk at the accident in the process. We left Chainwheel at 7:05 and had to be in Land O'Lakes by 8. Thankfully, they left the transition area open until 9 so I could get the tires changed on the bike and everything else. Thank you David!!! You don't know how much I appreciate what you did last night!! Just to let you know...I didn't have a flat tire when I got there this morning nor one on the ride! Not that I expected to have one but you never know once you put in new tubes (not knowing if they got pinched or whatnot).

I'll add pictures to my rotating set to the right. The blogger is having technical difficulties adding pictures to my blog today.

Talk to you later. Off to scrap!

Tri-Time!

Tomorrow is the triathlon!!! Can't tell I'm excited can you? :) I am going over tonight to check in and pick up my packet etc. I'm still debating about taking my bike tonight so I don't have to mess with it tomorrow. I still have to clean it. :) They have a secure transition area with nighttime deputy security. It would also mean I don't have to deal with it tomorrow morning since I'm not staying at my uncle and aunt's house this year.

Have a great evening!!

August 2nd

Wow. It's hard to believe that it is already August 2nd! Time has flown by! This week has been one of my busiest weeks since getting back from London. I have something to do every night except Saturday. Next week is going to be a bit more relaxing for me with only my weekly Ladies Bible Study group planned...oh yeah I just remembered on Friday (of next week) will be the monthly sb crop!

I think I have decided on doing 12x12 for the London trip because of how many photos I have. I have a 12x12 travel album that I have a few layouts in from when I went to Spain in '01 but I think I am going to move those to my college album since I went there with my school. I think I may go to the scrapbook store Saturday afternoon, after the Triathlon and get some of the paper. That way I'll have no excuse of I don't have anything to scrap at the crop. Plus I have pictures of David and I and also photos of my family, from when Steven was last home, that I can scrap. Let's see how much I really get done. LOL.

I'm getting ready to order the additional pictures that I missed on the original order.

It's time for me to get going. Have a great evening!
