Favorite Fall Memory & Halloween

Okay. So I fell behind on the journaling for 5 minutes and never completed last weeks which was to write about my favorite fall memory. My favorite fall memory is from earlier this month when David proposed. Okay so it's not really fall here in FL but it is a fall month. :) We went over to Crescent Beach to watch the sunrise and he proposed on the beach. It was freezing (as you can see from the pictures I posted on an earlier post). It was in the upper 50's to low 60's.

This week's challenge is to write about Halloween. As a child, Halloween was just a time to get to go around the neighborhood and get candy. :) I remember even going Trick-o-Treating a couple years in college with some of my friends. The neighbors expected the college kids to come around and didn't mind it as long as we were dressed up. I don't have kids now but when David and I do have kids we will not allow our children to participate in Halloween.

My relationship with the Lord has grown a lot since I graduated from college and it wouldn't be honoring to Him to go and celebrate or even teach my children to celebrate a "holiday" that represents beliefs that we are told to stay away from.

Ending note: I got a call from the bridal store. My dress has arrived!! The designer happened to have my size hanging in the warehouse and was able to ship it immediately! I may go down today to try it on. Here's a link to my dress. If you click on the navy blue color it will change the colored section to navy blue and you'll see what it looks like. Can't tell that I'm excited. :)

I think I'm going to scrapbook tonight. I still have a scrapping itch. I have a whole bunch to catch up on.

Have a great evening all!

Love to all,

Jenn

More Today Than Yesterday

More Today Than Yesterday by Spiral Starecase

I don't remember what day it was
I didn't notice what time it was
All I know is that I fell in love with you
And if all my dreams come true
I'll be spending time with you

Every day's a new day in love with you
With each day comes a new way of loving you
Every time I kiss your lips my mind starts to wander
And if all my dreams come true
I'll be spending time with you

Oh, I love you more today than yesterday
But not as much as tomorrow
I love you more today than yesterday
But, darling, not as much as tomorrow

Tomorrow's date means springtime's just a day away
Cupid, we don't need ya now, be on your way
I thank the lord for love like ours that grows ever stronger
And I always will be true, I know you feel the same way too

Oh, I love you more today than yesterday
But not as much as tomorrow
I love you more today than yesterday
But only half as much as tomorrow

Every day's a new day, every time I love ya
Every way's a new way, every time I love ya
Every day's a new day, oh, how I love ya

I feel stupid

I feel stupid. I have been trying and trying since 10/15 to get these pictures uploaded to my blog to share with everyone but no matter what I did they wouldn't upload. I realized this morning that I couldn't upload them because I forgot to change the password in my blogger settings when I changed the password on my web server. LOL. Now that I have the correct password in the blogger settings the pictures started uploading again.
My big news which I have been wanting to share is that while we were watching the sunrise on Crescent Beach David asked me to marry him!!! We haven't set a date for the wedding but it will be sometime this spring.

David and I after he came home from fishing with my grandpa.
He's holding some of the fish that they caught. We had some
fish the following week and it was yummy!

Sunrise at Crescent Beach. You can barely see it
but there is a sailboat in the picture. The sailboat
had to be rescued by the Marine Patrol.

This sign was hanging across my door when I got home from
my grandparents. Thank you John, Kendra, Kyler, and Zach!!

Picture of my ring.

Wedding plans are going well. I have my dress and veil on order. My dress has a ship date of Jan. 19th so it will be here in plenty of time for the wedding. Click on the link if you want to see a picture of it. In the picture it's red but mine will be Navy.

I am working on my website and will include the wedding information. I think we are almost through with the registries which I am glad. We spent hours and hours walking around multiple stores. One time we went after church and I was still in my high heals. By the end of the afternoon my feet were screaming and I slipped into flip flops to wear for the rest of the evening. Lets see...other than that not much else is going on in the terms of wedding plans. I think I have found my invitations and a scrapbook for my wedding pictures.

After we are married I will have a little scraproom. We are going to build a small room in the garage for two purposes, storage and a scrap area for me. If we make it dark enough I could make it in to a darkroom. LOL j/k. My darkroom stuff will be stored in there though. Anyways, I'll move my scrap area to the little room which will free up a ton of space in my little apartment.

My air conditioner is finally going to be replaced!! Last week I woke up to the smoke detector beeping (sounds like the ones at Southern) and I could smell smoke and hear popping sounds. My air conditioner was set at 77 degrees and it was blowing out hot air. So I turned off the machine and then unplugged it. The repair guy came out the next day and said he was going to put in a work order for it to be replaced since he doesn't trust it. He's been out 6 or 7 times in the past year to fix it cause it keeps breaking.

Gotta go. Love to all!

Challenge...

Today's word is challege. I don't know what I am actually going to say about it today. :) One of the challeges I have scrapbooking related is finding time to actually scrapbook.

Who knew it would be a challenge for me to complete this journal entry. :) It's quite okay because I wouldn't change talking on the phone with David. We spoke for about an hour and a half. This Tuesday will be one month. We'll be hanging out. Not sure what we'll be doing.

Now I have lost my train of thought. There's a football game on tv (Tennessee & Georgia) that I have been watching and so I'm basically distracted from writing today in my blog.

Let's see today I got my hair cut. I wanted to grow it out but I think ever since I got my hair cut in late August I have worn my hair up in a ponytail or bun, so it was time for it to go. I can't pull it back now and I like it. It will be challenging in the mornings because it's short enough that I will have bed head and will have to wash my hair. It will keep me a lot cooler, plus it forces me to do something with it.

Tomorrow, betweeen church and small group, I'll probably scan more slides and negatives and then place a snapfish order. I really like my new scanner. When I scan slides it will automatically scan and save the files without me having to do anything. If the slides are too dark it won't scan them so I don't have to worry about going through deleting files. I haven't scanned any negatives yet but they will probably work the same way the slides do. Elizabeth, I still haven't found out if they accept APS film. If I can't find an answer in my guide or online then I'll send an email to HP asking them. It would be great if they did!! I don't have an APS camera or film so I can't test the scanner. Maybe Sooz knows????

There's about 50 seconds left in the Tenn/GA game so I won't be up for much longer. It's 11:10 PM and about time to go to bed! I'm going to sign off so I can check in to the Scrappy Chatters Croptoberfest.

Love to all!

Inspire...

Okay, here goes. I'm a member of Scrappy Chatters. It's an online group of scrappers from around the world. This weekend we are celebrating the third birthday of the group with an all weekend online crop. I participated in last years party and had a blast. One of the challeges this year is a Blog Journaling Challege. It will encourage us to write a little a day and use our blogs. We will be given a word every day and then we are supposed to write about the word for 5 minutes.

Today's word is inspire.

From Dictionary.com
–verb (used with object)
1. to fill with an animating, quickening, or exalting influence: His courage inspired his followers.
2. to produce or arouse (a feeling, thought, etc.): to inspire confidence in others.
3. to fill or affect with a specified feeling, thought, etc.: to inspire a person with distrust.
4. to influence or impel: Competition inspired her to greater efforts.
5. to animate, as an influence, feeling, thought, or the like, does: They were inspired by a belief in a better future.
6. to communicate or suggest by a divine or supernatural influence: writings inspired by God.
7. to guide or control by divine influence.
8. to prompt or instigate (utterances, acts, etc.) by influence, without avowal of responsibility.
9. to give rise to, bring about, cause, etc.: a philosophy that inspired a revolution.
10. to take (air, gases, etc.) into the lungs in breathing; inhale.
11. Archaic.
a. to infuse (breath, life, etc.) by breathing (usually fol. by into).
b. to breathe into or upon. –verb (used without object)
12. to give inspiration.
13. to inhale.

Most of us are inspired by something or someone in our life. I am inspired by the wonderful group of ladies that I have met in this group. There are always encouraging words being said whether it's scrapbook or non-scrapbook related subjects. We share both digital and paper layouts. When we share out layouts it inspires others to try new things from embellishments to techniques. I have learned so much from this group!

Princess. She is one relaxed kitty.

Tiggs sitting on my lap.
David and I.

For Tiggs and Jager to be close to David is something. They along with Hunter (Jager's brother) are all skitty kitties. Jager didn't let David hold her for long but long enough for me to run upstairs to get the camera and to take some pictures. Tiggs stayed on my lap for about 2 seconds before running to hide...Princess being in the room didn't help. Princess is the most friendly of the cats and will come around just about anybody... except little kids.
