4 months 3 days

It's 4 months and 3 days away to our wedding day! I'm excited! Not too much is going on with the wedding planning. Right now the tentative date is still March 31st. Steven should be able to be there. We are wanting him to be home which is why we set it for that date. We'll find out hopefully sometime after the first of the year.

We bought our fridge last night! It'll be here this weekend. I'm ready to start cooking again. Susan you'll get to meet David when you come to visit! Missy is supposed to be coming to visit too. I bought David's wedding band last night. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it.

We'll be painting the scrapbook/storage room this week. It's a very pretty blue. I'll have to post some pictures when it's completed. I have been slacking in taking pictures of the progress (to of course scrapbook). I haven't taken any recent photos. Which I need to before we start painting. We've got so much work to do before the fridge is delivered. My room is still a mess. I am in the process of packing all of the scrapbook stuff to be moved downstairs.

Story from the air. We were flying to Houston from Tampa early Thursday morning. As we were coming in for the landing, the pilot came over the intercom and said, "I can see the tower but not the ground." You could hear a nervous chuckle throughout the cabin. We were all glad once we safely made it to the ground.

We got to see where Steven works. One of his buddies, Chris, that works with him took us around the unit and was able to show us the LCAC's and Steven's desk. Also, Chris and his wife just found out that they are expecting! Congrats you two!! We also got to see some of the base too which is huge!

Love to all!

Lakeshore, MS Photos

Lakeshore Trip Recap & Wedding Plans

The internet was down until Saturday evening in Lakeshore, so I wasn't able to post anything while I was there. The trip went well. The Riverside team spent our days at Ms. Lynn's house. We painted, hung doors, laid flooring, and did trim work. I took lots of photos and I will create a slide show of the pictures. I will also add other photos when I get copies from Diana and Charlie.

Thursday evening the Silver Slipper Casino opened its doors in Lakeshore, down on the water. One of the main roads to the water, Lakeshore Drive, goes right past the church and the road was backed up for miles. Pastor Don had just received an order for Billion Dollar tracts with Charles Spurgeon on them. They arrived at the last minute Thursday afternoon and so we were able to go pass them out! Here's a link to Pastor Don's website with the entry about the tracting. A guy from an Alabama church (sorry his name slips my mind) joined us in passing out the tracts. It was his first time tracting and he had a blast. Cody had fun passing them out too. He would walk up and down the road offering them out to anyone who would take them. When we passed by one car you could see the passenger look at us like we were chickens with our heads cut off and you could see this person reaching down to the door and could hear the door locking. I surprised a passenger in another vehicle. A person in the back seat of the vehicle wanted one of the tracts and I was passing it through the window and when the passenger in the front seat turned she jumped when she saw me. While we were passing out the tracts we ran across Jamie who was returning from her Bible study and was stuck waiting in traffic waiting to get back to the church.

All in all the trip went well. The trains are still running. I think more times then they did when we were there in April. There are still some areas where cleanup hasn't even begun and other areas where they are starting to rebuild. They are tearing down the elementary school and are going to rebuild it. Right now the children are being sent to schools where they have to travel a few hours a day or more to go and return from school. The weather was excellent! Sat. afternoon the temps dropped and it was a bit chilly (okay cold). It was still nice. It didn't rain while we were there although, it did threaten to Sat. afternoon.

For those who are asking the wedding plans are going well. I am working on updating my personal website and will add the wedding details to it. I will post a link when I have completed the site. It's been busy here and haven't had much time to work on it. We are still looking at a late March/early April wedding date. We are trying to arrange it to be when my brother is home because we really want him to be here. I have some time off over the Thanksgiving weekend and hopefully will have a few hours that I can spend working on the website.

Love to all!

Lakeshore or Bust

Lakeshore or Bust

11:30 AM EST / 10:30 AM Central

Right now we are on our way to Lakeshore!! We are about 30 miles from Pensacola. We’ll stop for lunch and to fill up and we’ll make it to Lakeshore without stopping again. We started out early this morning. We had to stop at a couple of places before hitting the road. We were at Lake City at 7:00 this morning! It’s about time to stop again. The Lord provided a vehicle for us to take to Lakeshore! Thank you Christina! It has a huge take and we haven’t had to fill it yet and we have just under half a tank of gas and we are over halfway to Lakeshore! When I was there in April there was internet access, so hopefully they’ll still have it and I’ll be able to post something every day.

Yes, I bought Victoria’s Secret’s Endless Love lotion for this trip. On one of the previous trips we found out that the Endless Love lotion helps keep the gnats and skeeters away and it’s the ONLY thing that we have found that works there at least for the gnats. It’s well worth the $9.00 for it!!!

They are working on the roads on I-10. They are repaving part of it and working on the bridges. We are just coming in to Pensacola. They are building the new bridge and they have come a LONG way on the new bridge…they were just beginning to put the pilings in when we came in April. They are repairing the old one that was destroyed by Katrina.

Today’s Scrappy Chatter’s entry for something I am thankful about is going to be tied to the mission trips the Lord has sent me on in the past year. This is the third opportunity that the Lord has provided for me to go to Lakeshore and He has also sent me to London. I am thankful for theses opportunities that He has provided because I am constantly learning something about Him. He has used each of the trips to teach me something new. I am excited to see what He has planned for this trip!

Okay. We took a break and ate at the Crackle Barrel at the Florida/Alabama border. Nice break to sit and relax and get something to eat. We are back on the road. It has been a very nice trip so far and very little traffic! I’m listening to the radio on my cell phone. I haven’t been able to find a Christian station yet. L Maybe as we get closer to Mobile I can find one. Right now I don’t know what else to talk about. J

I can’t remember if I mentioned this on my last post but I completed a layout finally! I haven’t scrapped that much recently. I took the picture that David and I took of us on Crescent Beach (right before he proposed) and also one of the sunrise that was taken the same morning. I made an engagement layout. I have some journaling to add to it but I still need to make the tag and didn’t have the time to do that Sunday afternoon when I was working on the layout.

Yeah! I finally found a station!! Mercy Me and Word of God Speak is on! Coolness. Okay, I’m happy that I can listen to some music! Oh and I’m using my cell phone to listen to the radio cause we haven’t turned on the radio yet. I guess I could turn it on. LOL.

Okay I’m going to go and listen to more music. I’ll write more later! Love to all!!!!
