SC Blog Challenge for March

Okay. I know it's not March but in another 10 hours it will be. I'm going to get started on answering some of the questions. Since my wedding is in exactly 31 days from now (it's 2 PM on the dot as I'm typing this) I don't know how much I will really get to write in this.

1. What's the last TV show you watched and why? Do you have any favorites?

The last tv show I watched was last night and it was a very disgusting NCIS episode. It didn't help that David and I had just sat down to eat as it was starting and the opening scene was at the cemetery and they were opening the crypt to put in a Marine that had just died and there was an explosion. Guts and bones flew out all over. I nearly lost my dinner and David was laughing at me. :) Then it turns out it was the partial remains of 5 victims and they spent the time searching for the rest of them. They found them in another crypt. Then when they found the guy who did it (linked through his mom) and his butcher girlfriend (the rest of the remains were found in her grandfather's crypt) who they interviewed and released after the guy finally confessed and told them how each of them was killed. It turned out that she was the one that butchered all of the dead people and they ended the show when they found his van and her inside butchering the next victim. Pretty gross for a NCIS episode!!

NCIS is one of my favorites. Along with Law & Order (all the different versions) and Numb3rs.

I have gotten some scrapping done. I am working on the shower pictures. I have my title page and the pages with the cards done. I am working on the rest of the photos. I need some time to sit down and scrap. I have too much to do right now. The shower is nearly done! The apt. is coming together a little at a time. I'll get some pics up soon!

Blog Journaling Challenge #3

Yeah, yeah I know that I didn't do challenge number 2.

This week is to describe myself as a child of 8. Since I was 8, that would put me in grade 3. I had Mrs. Bakely. We called ourselves the Bakely Bunch and came up with a song that went with the Brady Bunch's theme song but I couldn't recite it because I don't remember any of the lyrics and I don't think we ever wrote them down. I remember getting a Flintstone's book from her for Christmas. Also, when we learned our timestables we were allowed to start writing with a pen, eraseable of course. I remember her classroom faced the playground and was a couple doors down from the cafeteria. She was my only teacher that year and I think I loved all but a couple of the teachers. Not that they were mean or anything. One of them only worked until Chrsitmas break...and that was before the second quarter finished, and honestly I don't even remember her name. I think that was 5th grade and we got an awesome teacher to replace her.

Okay back to 8 years old. I think my room was decorated in a Cabbage Patch Kids theme. I loved my CPK's. I was a Brownie Girl Scout and loved selling cookies. I earned a lot of try-its and patches but that was because I went to most events since my mom was a leader. I loved camping, and still do. My brother was a toddler and a pest. :) Now, he's not a pest anymore. He's deployed over in the sand box and he won't be home in time for my wedding. :( :( He was able to be home for it and the Marine unit he's stationed with (he's in the Navy), their deployment has been extended twice and so my brother's deployment had to be extended. Which sucks because he really wanted to be home for it too and I wanted him to be home too. My best friend was Carole C. I still talk to her. She lives in Indiana now with her dh and kids. I believe her daughter is now 8. I think I wanted to be a lawyer or a teacher back then because of all the writing they have to do. I don't know what I was thinking! I'm neither by the way. The closest I was to becoming either one was in college when I was an education major for a couple years in college. I wanted to get married (which I am doing in less than 6 weeks) and have kids (hopefully not for a few more years). My favorite artist then and still is today is Billy Joel.

Blog Journaling Challeng #1

Q: What personality traits do you feel you convey to people the first time you meet them?

Quiet and shy. I don't usually talk much when I meet people for the first time.

My set is almost complete!

I am tickled...as opposed to being so annoyed yesterday. Yesterday afternoon, I FINALLY found the remaining Sizzix Fun Serif Upper Case letter that I need to complete the alphabet set. I found it on CreativeXpress.com in their dollar bin. They are clearancing out their Sizzix stuff with the old logo and there's a new machine out, and they sold out their remaining shares of the Sizzix line to Ellison. CreativeXpress is a Provo Craft website. Anyways, I was surfing their website. They haven't had the letters in forever. I had already gotten a bunch of the letters months ago from their dollar bin but "I" was one of a few they didn't have. I found the other ones throughout the past year or so on EBay. I haven't been able to find the I. So I was surfing their website and found it!! The small alphabet dies are normally $7.99 so $1 was a steal for it. Naturally, I put it in my basket. $8.25 was outrageous to pay for shipping for just the 1 item that was $1. So I was looking to see if I could find anything else to buy to help offset the cost of shipping. There had been some other dies I was looking at that were on clearance as well also some other scrapbook related items. It hadn't even been 20 minutes and they sold out of the die and it was pulled from my cart. I was less than thrilled. I didn't place the order because the die was sold out. I sent them a very nice email telling them that I was less than thrilled that it was pulled from my shopping cart as I was activly shopping and they should consider reserving items for "x" minutes to allow customers ample time to finish shopping without losing the item. I told them that because the item was pulled from the shopping cart and that was the item I was really wanting I didn't place the order. I went back to the page and asked to be notified when it comes in stock. Just on the outside chance they get a few more. It was doubtful but just incase. Well, this morning at 11:30 AM I was notified that the item was back in stock and for the same price. I went back to the website, immediately put it in my cart. Since I emptied it yesterday I had to figure out what I was wanting and dealing with their slow as molasses site. I didn't get the same stuff that I had put in the cart yesterday except for a couple of items that I remembered. I was excited though because a few of the Sizzix items that I was looking at yesterday (that were sold out) happened to be in stock today so I grabbed them and am really excited. The Sizzix machine that I have is being phased out because a new one is out. I know it will become increasingly tougher to find replacement cutting pads for it. CX had them for $1.18 each so I grabbed a couple....they are regularly $3 each. They'll last long after the machine dies. I've rotate a couple cutting pads now and I've had the machine for about 6 years. The dies I got are normally $14 each and I got them for $4.43. I didn't mind paying for the shipping price with how much I saved. I placed the order at 12:12 PM and I just got in to the office and checked their website (it's 1:50 PM) and they are sold out. They had 5 in stock when I purchased it. I have been very good about my spending on scrapbook stuff recently so I splurged. :) I had been really wanting the I to complete the alphabet set. The preschoolers at church are learning the books of the Bible. I wanted to create a new set of flash cards for them using the Fun Serif letters but couldn't since I was missing I. Right now they are hand written on paper. It'll take me a while to create all of them but it's something they'll be able to use.

David and I have a possible game night date tonight with another couple that we know from church. I am looking forward to it if it works out! We have been trying since last fall to get one scheduled but all of our schedules have been busy. It'll be nice to get my mind off of everything that is going on with regarding the wedding. That is going well. I've had my moments with it. Music is mostly done. Mom and Vicky's small group is planning the reception, with my input of course. We've had the battle with the tulle. :) I don't want tulle all over the place...too girly girl for me. I found some really cool silver ribbon at Wally World to put around the favors. The stuff will be wrapped in tulle and tied with the ribbon. I just want the reception plain and not too decorated or girly girl. As I told my mom if I cared that it looked like a gym then I would have rented a church and a reception hall for the wedding. The hallways inside the church won't match my dress so I can't take pics against it, since it has navy blue in it but other than that I really don't care that the sanctuary looks like a gym. No dad, we are not going to lower the basketball hoops so you can play while we're taking pictures.

The apartment is getting better! We have the other half of the kitchen countertop in. I have stuff in the drawers and cabinets now. I have been going through stuff and pitching, packing, or puting in a box to be sold/donated. Which reminds me I need to put boxes in my car to take home. I forgot to and so I'm sure my dad probably got rid of a bunch this morning when the trash went out at the office.

Well I need to close this out so I can hand deliver some past due invoices to customers who haven't paid in months.

Tagged

I have received an IM from my best friend Lissa saying that I have been tagged. She told me that I need to blog so that I have been tagged. I'm not in much of a mood to blog right now so all I am going to do is the tag.

I have been asked about 6 strange facts about myself. I don't know how strange they are but here goes.

1. I absolutely hate surprises. I once told my mom that if she (or anyone else) ever threw me a surprise party I would turn around and walk right out. I wasn't joking when I said that either. She never did throw me one. It is still true today. I'd rather people just approach and ask rather than saying here. I hate being the center of attention which is why I hate surprise parties. Just to let everyone know that I would have eloped elope just so I wouldn't have to stand up in front of everyone. David doesn't want me to regret not having a wedding and so that's why we are having it. The more and more everything goes on, the more and more I'm sick of it and really wishing that we had eloped. I am being 100% serious! Oh well. Life goes on.

2. I'm not a girlie girl. I'm comfy in jeans and tshirts. I like dressing up a little more than I used to and actually like wearing dressy clothes now. I hate wearing make-up, doing my nails, or spending excessive time doing my hair. I can't have fake or long nails because I wear contacts and the last time I had them I had problems because where my contacts sit on my fingers when I put them in my eyes. I have to be real careful with makeup because I have sensitive skin and will break out (more than just a pimple here or there). My face starts burning and itching when I wear it. Besides, I think I look just horrible and fake with makeup on.

3. I could type words before I could write them on paper.

Okay, I'm having a hard time coming up with strange facts about myself.

4. I am more allergic to things as an adult then I was as a kid. May just be because I was never exposed to it when I was a kid, so I'm finding them out now.

5. I love road trips but hate driving.

6. I'm tired of blogging and I'm ready to go home!

I am tagging Kendra, Matt, Missy, Theresa, Wendy, and Nicole.

The rules are the following… Mention 6 strange facts about yourself. Tag 6 net friends and leave a message in their blogs. Ask them to read your blog. These rules are supposed to be written in the blogs of those who have been tagged.
